Of course I love mothers who choose to feed their babies formula, or pumping, (I’ve never got to photograph a pumping mamma, hint hint!) and I support them and photograph them too with just as much love and attention, though I am a nursing mom, I identify with nursing mothers so much and wrote this bit for this post. <3
Thank you for being with me, on this blog, and appreciating one of God’s most innocent, life giving, artful, self sacrificing acts of keeping a baby alive and comforted through your body.
Put the baby to my breast.
I am nature herself.
Our forms will rest,
I can feel the milk flow.
There has never been such silky hands,
A root to send me softly sitting,
Busy hands that finally slow,
A tiny wetness, sweetest smell.
My body, it breathes for a moment,
Warmest exhale from the smallest.
I will look up and finally see
These walls couldn’t be a more lovely shade.
The others slumber in dimly glowing corners.
The house is quiet with gentle hum.
Our bodies release,
A glorious relief.
